This Privacy Policy explains how Giftn ("Giftn," "we," "us") handles information in connection with the Giftn website at giftn.app and the Giftn app preview (together, the "Service"). Giftn is currently operated by its founder in the United States. We designed Giftn to collect as little personal information as possible, and this policy reflects how the Service works today.
The Giftn app preview runs entirely in your browser. Information you enter — such as names, birthdays, occasions, budgets, and saved gift ideas — is stored locally on your own device using your browser's local storage. This information is not transmitted to or stored on our servers, and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data for giftn.app deletes it permanently.
We do not require an account to browse the Service, and we do not collect names, payment details, or precise location. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information when you visit — such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — which is used for security and to keep the site running. If you email us at info@giftn.app, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, which we use only to respond to you.
The Service does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers. Local storage (described above) is used solely to make the app function on your device. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future, we will update this policy first.
Giftn displays gift suggestions associated with third-party retailers. Today these are demonstrations and the retailer links are disabled. When our retail partnerships go live, tapping a retailer link will take you to that retailer's own website, which is governed by that retailer's privacy policy — not ours. Affiliate links may include tracking parameters that let the retailer know Giftn referred you; see our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at info@giftn.app and we will delete it.
Because your gifting data lives on your device rather than our servers, the most important protection is your own device security. For the limited information we do handle (such as email correspondence), we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards.
You can delete all app data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for giftn.app. You may also contact us at info@giftn.app to ask what information we hold about you (typically only email correspondence) and to request its deletion.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Giftn grows — for example, when accounts, sync, or live retail partnerships launch. We will post the updated policy here with a new "last updated" date, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
